The new Manitoba FASD Centre provides an expanded service-delivery approach for assessing preschool-age children 0 to 6 years old that will reduce waiting times for our multi-disciplinary team assessments and access to early intervention programs and services.
The preschool team consists of an intake worker, developmental pediatrician, geneticist, speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, and social worker. Follow-up is provided in partnership with established early intervention community resources.
For children under two, an appointment will require approximately two hours. For children three to five years, two appointments of about two hours each will be required.
